I love the men in my life! Daddy, Bolu, Noor & Shulez, I love them loads and they know it.
I've also got some male friends as well who are really dear to my heart and they know themselves.
But right now I have a big issue in this male-dominated society we (or is it just me?) live in.
The other day a guy at work was saying I don't have anything to do with my money 'cos there's a guy footing my bills - Wat? Puh-leez!!!(with my eyes rolling!)
As if that wasn't enuough, the next day- yesterday, I went out for lunch and my cell phone fell done and the cover came off. A guy nearby just said 'Sorry. Don't worry he'll buy you a new one and if he doesn't tell me, i'll buy you one.'
Is this what this world has turned into or is that we females have so belittled ourselves that we are subject to the gifts of the men in our lives?
Don't get me wrong, I love to get gifts from my man every now and then and also love to feel pampered but then, why the heck am I working if I can't foot my bills.
I bought the phone with my hard-earned, sweating money (I know how much garri I soaked afterwards!)
But really the gist is men have come to see us as women who can be bought and it's really really sad.
I just wish we''ll stop being that and live up to our responsibilities and quit them excuses!

Guess it boils down to societal expectations and all that ish... Doesn't mean that you can't hold your own and buy your own stuff of course!

Here's what i'll say. This is an opportunity to change the way people see things. Most times we find ourselves swimmin against the current and then turn around after a while cause fighting aint so cool.
Sofi help "men" see "women" differently.
I would gladly foot your bills. I would also hand your bills, smell your bills and if you like, taste your bills!
